Building the Team - JFOES 1:1

Have you ever heard? War never changes. It's just gunfire and murder.

Even for the happiest of places, it will go down sometime. You wouldn't believe how such a happy and jolly place could turn into a world where death can come at any point. Luckily for a fellow pony, death didn't come, but a coma did.

Toto Jakito. He used to be a steel ranger before rocks came onto him during a fight bringing a 12-year coma along.

The other Steel Rangers would come to check on him. It started from being monthly, then to yearly, and then to nothing. He was never dead though. Life just waited for the perfect time, and when it hit, he woke up.

-

The wind whistles in the dusty land. A mountain of rocks sat. The dead bodies of other ponies became fossils in the ground.

A rock would get pushed off, and the other rocks on top would fall to fill its space.

There lied a unicorn. They had a white coat and a black mane. Steel armor covered their body which had an engraving of words on the piece that’d surround the neck. It’d read Property of Steel Rangers.

The pony that lied there had a name. Toto Jakito. He was a Steel Ranger before the coma.

Toto would get up after all the rocks had fallen. His body rose from the dirt that covered the land.

He'd take a brief look at what surrounded him. It appeared as the Wastelands got healthier. The sky was tan, the ground was dirt brown, and you could breathe well. The first wastelands you could die from anything.

Not only did the Wastelands age well, but Toto did. He noticed that he had a full hair beard.

Toto saw a pile of dirt. He'd try to do a quick wind spell to blow it off.

All he heard was some sparking. Then he realized. The rocks broke his horn.

He'd sigh in disappointment.

Toto just swiped the dirt off. There lied a metal box that was 1.5 feet long.

Luckily, it wasn't locked, so he'd open it. A shotgun lied inside. There were also some barrels under it's spot once you picked it up.

He'd take the contents

Toto remembered seeing a park being built. He told himself that he'd want to check it out when it was finished at the time. It probably was finished, giving the fact that time has passed. He'd walk around to find the park.

-

There was a sanctuary in which there was an awesome Batpony. Lali Exposito. He's the average that isn't average.

He loved hanging out with his friends while also loving being by himself. He'd make music in his freetime.

He somehow got a lot of ponies to like him. One liked him more than a normal person, and that'd be his partner Bloonie. It's kind of the same situation with Bloonie, except she's more horny.

That led to Miltiod. The offspring that got obsessed with robot advancements. He's more brave, confident, and outgoing more than Lali.

One time, Lali wanted to try something out. He wanted to find an idea for a song to play from his surroundings. It could help expand his creative mind.

The sanctuary wouldn't cut it though. Maybe something more outside... oh, Glimmer Park.

Glimmer Park was the park that Lali's Faction, known as the Yellow Rebellion, would go to for patrols and wait at for Game Day, so that'd be a good place to start.

He'd head off with his guitar to go to Glimmer Park and try his idea.

-

There was a mare that went to the Rusthooves daily. Sharie Asombrosa. She was a rockstar, and was really down to do anything.

She didn't really care what others thought, but only what she thought.

After a long day of being wild, Sharie wanted to calm down a bit, so she went where she normally went to calm down: Glimmer Park.

She'd only go there went the random group of ponies wasn't there. They'd wear armor, and it appeared as somepony would sort them into benches. Then that somepony would tell the benches something, and they'd hold a chemlight that was either gold, red, lime, or lavender.

Sharie sat by the fountain. It was peaceful here.

She'd lie down and rest. While she loved being wild, she also loved to just relax sometimes.

She saw a pony walking in the distance, but she didn't care. There was also a Batpony that was talking to a pegasus, but it was on the other side.

-

Britlit Har was a peacemaker. You just couldn't get mad with him. The way he talks is just so nice and delicate. He wanted to try to make some new friends, and he thought Glimmer Park was the best option.

Following his own orders, he'd go to Glimmer Park. When he arrived there was a Batpony playing music.

He'd sit by him. “Nice guitar skills.”

The Batpony would look up at him. “Oh, thanks.”

“How long have you've been playing for?”

“If I count my years as a child, about 6 years."

“Nice. I used to play the violin when I was in Stable 402. I stopped playing because, well, I don't have it anymore.”

“Ah, the stables and their numbers. I've never been in a stable. I came from a family of raiders, and I ran away at 11.”

“That does have it's pros and cons.”

“Well, lucky me lived in the time where the drinks from the Rusthooves were free.”

“Wait, you drank as a child?”

“No, though honestly there's nothing against it.”

“Except your body.”

They'd continue to talk as Sharie approached the park for her rest at the fountain.

-

Toto had found the fountain and was walking towards it. He saw a poster on his right though.

He'd look at it. It read Be a team and unite! Join the Steel Rangers today!

Toto would chuckle. “The Steel Rangers are just ponies with a fetish for tech; all they do is hunt and fight. and where's the unity in that?”

He took a thought though. A team. The Wastelands might've gotten healthier, but only the land and water mostly. If he had a team, he and his team could do things to make the Wastelands better.

He'd take a glance at Glimmer Park. Some people were there.

Toto would continue walking to the park.

-

Toto would sit on the bench beside the bench Lali and Britlit were on.

“That's an interesting way to get into mating,” Toto overheard from Britlit.

“Whatcha guys talkin' about?” Toto asked the 2 ponies.

Britlit would face Toto. “We're talking about how this Batpony I'm talking to got a child. It's a bit of a funny story.”

“Neat." Toto sat in silence as the other two kept talking. He got an idea from thinking of that poster. "Hey, could I tell you an idea?

"What would that be?"

"I have an idea to get a team to do random shit with for absolutely no reason but to do it."

Lali would speak up. “I'd be interested?”

“If I had anyone, then I would," Toto responded.

“Well you could try us?” Britlit said.

Toto took a thought. “Well, maybe more than just 3.”

“Who says you don't?” Britlit pointed out that someone was lying by the fountain.

Why is this working?! Toto thought.

“Hey, who said I wanted to join?” Sharie got up. “I mean, if I get to kill people then yeah.”

“...Well uhh... y'know, why not?”

“What would we do first?” Britlit asked.

“Maybe find a place for our shit I guess,” Toto responded.

The newfound squad would talk as they'd exit Glimmer Park. When those ponies became a squad, they had no idea what they'd become.

With the Guard - JFOES 1:2

"I heard that there's a stable that's open to the public. Stable 49. Maybe we could go there to see what a stable is like?" Lali suggested.

Lali and the rest of the squad were walking around in the Wastelands having a chat.

"A stable that's open to the public? I've never heard of anything like that." Britlit said.

"Well I'm not lying. You'll find it in the mines. Anypony know where that is?"

"Right in front of us," Toto said in a flat tone.

The squad stopped for a moment. Yup, he wasn't lying.

"That's convenient."

-

Hooves clattered against the tile ground of the stable entrance. There were stairs that rose up to a platform with 2 seats on the left and right, a soda machine, and the entrance to another room.

The squad would walk into that other room. It was a wider area, mostly empty. On the right was another room, and on the left was an elevator.

"I guess we go in the elevator," Toto said.

"You're the one that's actually lived in a stable. Well, besides Britlit," Lali added.

"My stable was a complete trainwreck. Britlit's was the greatest. Why would he be so damn nice then?"

"Because he isn't an idiot," Sharie said jokingly..

"Says the one that just threw an insult," Lali came back.

They'd chuckle a bit and walk to the elevator. As a usual elevator, the inside had the normal emergency buttons and floor buttons. The only difference is that there were only 2 floors.

Toto would press the button for Floor 1 as the stable should be underground. The doors of the elevator closed, and the ride down began.

Some dialogue on the speaker would play. It was playing a radio that literally only Britlit was familiar with. "Ah, that's the new radio station. Stay 42 Radio."

The radio was playing a live message. "Hello everypony. Your favorite lady Pegasus is here~. Do you want to know what I like about the stables? The people. I like how rough they can be. I'm talking ESPECIALLY about my little Qieube. You really bring on a match~."

"We got this bitch back on the radio. These always pop up," Toto said.

"How do you know that when you don't have a pipbuck?" Lali asked.

"The bar has a jukebox."

"Ah, yeah..."

The radio finished. "If I walk beside you at the stable, just ask and you could be having a fun time tonight~. Cheers, and stay 42, maybe even 69 if you'd like~."

The elevator arrived to the 1st floor.

The squad walked out into the stable area.

"Woah..." Lali mumbled as he let his eyes gaze around the stable. "So much technology."

"Very populated for a stable. Let's sit on a nearby bench so we don't block the entrance," Britlit suggested.

The squad would move to a nearby bench and sit down on it.

They'd look around for a little bit not making any interaction until a security guard that was a Zebra spotted them.

The guard would walk up to them.

The squad got anxious until the guard spoke up.

"Haven't seen you guys in here before," the guard spoke cheerfully, "Do you actually live in the stable?"

"No, we're actually just in here passing by. we haven't really been in a stable before," Britlit explained.

"It isn't rare to see someone that wasn't born in a stable. The outsiders get more lucky if you know what I mean. If you want, I can give you a tour."

"Sure."

"Alright, also I shouldn't forget to say this, but my name's Zapat. You are?"

"Britlit. A pleasure to see you."

"Well, let's get you set on the first thing. I'm a security guard for this stable. Basically, my job here is to make sure you don't run around as an idiot with a shotgun."

"Try me," Sharie said.

"Anyways, let me show you the cafeteria."

-

"The cafeteria is obviously the place where you get your food. I'm pretty damn sure I don't need to explain this," Zapat explained.

"I'm pretty sure that's correct," Lali added.

"Well, let me show you the security office, though ONLY the office."

-

"This is the security office. You can come here to report when there's an idiot-running-around-with-a-shotgun or something, or someone will announce it on the stable radio," Zapat explained.

"Ni-" Toto was about to say before a prisoner new came running through the door which led to the jail cells.

"What the?! HEY!" Zapat shouted.

Zapat would go siren the alarm.

-

The alarm of the stable blared. "WARNING, A PRISONER HAS BROKEN OUT! PLEASE ESCORT ALL DWELLERS INTO A SECURE ROOM!"

"You're lucky I get paid enough for this- Follow me." Zapat ordered.

The squad got up and followed Zapat.

"I bet I could beat that pony down so hard that it'll come right off!" Sharie flexed.

"That's the guard's jo-"

"SHUT IT!" Sharie shouted at Britlit.

They'd be escorted into a sleeping residence, and Zapat would lock the door.

"I'm not trained enough to fight the prisoners yet," Zapat told.

-

"So you have experience working for the stable, right?" Toto asked Zapat.

"Why would I be here then?" Zapat responded.

"True. Do you think you could have a bit of fun outside?"

"Not alone."

"Well, I feel like we could use one more pony on our team. You think you could join?"

"I got to at least have sense of what it is."

"We can talk about it outside the stable."

"Alright. I'll let you know when I'm on break."

-

Zapat and Toto had arrived at Glimmer Park. They'd take seats around the fountain.

"So what is this team thing you have going on?" Zapat questioned.

"Basically we plan to just do a lot of things," Toto explained.

"What a variety."

"Yes."

"I can try to join, but it might not be often."

"Nice. Maybe you can help us decide something to do."

"Haha, no."

"Alright."

-

Zapat Nelo is a Zebra that works for the stable as a security guard. He's very social and has a talent of explaining things like Lali.

He used to be a medic, but he decided it wasn't fit for him.

Zapat doesn't have that much friends, but a lot of acquaintances.

He will never be afraid to start a conversation with anyone. He'll be a good addition to the team.
